also if you convert to optical, make a heat sheild from the turbo, the heat from the turbo melts the soft rubber on the connector.

When I converted to optical I used a FJ20DE and a L28E dizzy parts and made one out of two.
basically a FJ20DE inards in a L28E shell, only hard bit was a bit of dicking around with converting the shaft (fj20DE dizzy is driven by a gear, you have to use the shaft from the L28E)

I gave up trying to find a optical Dizzy here in Brisbane, dont know what other states are like in finding these.

Dan, Nissan use the optical sensor in almost all their late model sensors,
SR20, ka24e, ca18dx, e15et, ad nauseum! Quite sure you would have to do a
bit of custom work to get the disc and sensor inside the z18et dizzy.
Alternatively you could find the z18et optical sensor dizzy :) We disccussed
it on here a few months ago for Cam's microtech z18et.

Can you tell me more about the E15T ones, will it bolt straight in or will
I have to rip the guts out of it and put in the z18et dizzy?

Cheers

You can use the photo-optical units from E15T or the FJ20DET. Or if you are
a bit handy even one from the CA's and drive it from the end of your
camshaft.

Hey guys,

at the moment I'm running the wolf 3d crank angle disk and sensor off my z18
to fire the computer in a waste spark arrangment. I want to upgrade to a
cam triggered arrangement (i.e drive it off the dizzy drive) to use full
sequential ignition and injection plus ditch the bulky wolf setup.

What can I use to trigger the computer properly? I already have a z18et
dizzy but the output signal is too weak for the wolf to pick up. So if I
can't get anything to bolt in, I guess I could do a tranplant into the z18et
dizzy chassis?

So what should I be using, I remember someone saying E15 pulsar dizzy would
work????????????

Cheers guys and gals

Daniel
