Thanks for the Infor Geordie

Not worried about power can handle turbo power more insurance and initial costs but anyway. The Z18 is definetly prob the easiest, always has been, So I'll need all new fuel lines as well.
OK cool

Thanks
Ryan

Is your bluebird a series 1 2 or 3?

If series 3 you will find that fitting a SR20det or CA18det will be the
easiest swap.

If Series 1 or 2, You can change the engine crossmember to series 3 & fit in
a SR or CA engine, or get yourself a Z18et and bolt it straight in. Not sure
on the FJ, but you might have to play around with engine mounts

If your thinking turbo, just do it straight up.. The old "I'll fit the
engine first and turbo it later" is a very expensive and painful route to
take, throw the turbo in now and if you can't handle it then lift your right
foot.

For EFI all you really need to make it work is a surge tank, some 5/16 &
1/4" efi type fuel hose, and a bosch VL pump. The rest is wiring which
you'll probably get with the engine if you buy something like a half cut.

If your scared of wiring, you can pull your bluebird loom out, pull the
transplant loom out, post them off to someone on this list and for a few
hundred bucks they'll splice them together & make the loom ready to plug
back into the car & drive.

Subject: How easy to efi a bluebird

Hey Datto people

I am tossing up modifying the bluebird abit. Was thinking of going a NA 2l
EFI like SR,FJ or even an L or Z. Just wandering how easy is the efi part?
I know I need
EFI pump and prob a pickup pump to a surge tank as well but do I need to
change the lines on the bluey or will the originals be ok not sure of there
size.

Has anybody fitted an SR or FJ to a bluebird? I know I have seen FJ's, and
herd you use a ca20 mount and an original or something. Would even consider
a VG30, main reason with the FJ or SR is so I can go turbo later on but the
VG in that sweet red pillarles bluey looks great.

Many Thanks
Ryan
