L24 to a RB30 conversion, is it possible?

G'day fellahs. Im new to this site. I got a L24 in an 1979 datsun skyline 
and Im looking at putting a RB30 conversion through it. I don't even know if 
its possible yet or whether it would be legal or not. Im basically trying to 
get some info together to see if it would be successful. If anyone has got 
any info or done a conversion like this before your input would be greatly 
appreciated. ANything on whether it would fit, if the original driveline 
would be strong enough,  or even if it is possible.
