The new arrival went to get rego checked on monday (i didn't think it would pass, I wanted to find out how badly it would fail). Anyhoo, it's pretty good mechanically but due to the new rules it will need to engineered due to the seatbelts being mounted in a non stock position (behind the b pillar on the roof), the non stock seats being welded in (I didn't get a time to have a good examine before it went in) and the 240k stock wheels.... (please say this is purely about rolling diameter). Also needs sill rust repair. The big question is what do I do now? (bear in mind I am not able to fix anything myself) Do i:
a) hunt around for wheels and seats (I have alternate seatbelts), get the rust fixed and avoid it having to be engineered
b) get it engineered as is and then have to get it re-done when the CA goes in (at this stage a long way off)
c) do the CA conversion, then only have to get it engineered once... but it will be ages between drives!
d) sell it and save for the next one
I realise this is really up to me but any advice etc would be greatly appreciated.
