i bought the yoko AO32r - 13x205x60 series.
as i am eventually going to use this car as a historic group N
I had to stick with 13 rims & 60 series tyres.
with the yoko's I can also run improved production if i want as its their
control tyre.

the new front tyres & 4 degrees negative camber meant i could put the car
almost anywhere i wanted on the corner, fixed my under steer problem :). i
went nearly a second faster than my previous best in the datsun (my HX
holden still about 4 seconds quicker that the datsun at this stage)and 6
seconds faster than the other 1600 in my class :-), but the class winner was
a renault that was about 8 seconds quicker than me (: Going to buy the back
tyres before the next meeting, its just that at $222.00 each i had to ration
their aquisition.

yeah ride height is high....i have cut down standard springs at the moment.
I have only had this car a little over 6 months so its a slow process, but
getting there.

The hillclimb was at MT Cotton (south of brisbane) - we had 110 cars there
so only 3 runs (usually 4 or 5 runs)

Mick i am tossing up what to do to make it go up the hill faster its either
going to be the better carbies or a higher diff ratio, i guess if i see a
good deal on the carbies I will grab them first.

cheers Jeff

Nice one Jeff!
Doesn't it feel good to see pics of your car doing stuff in real
competition?
What tyres did you end up with (brand, sizes)?
Tyres play a huge part in getting a good time in a short sprint event I
reckon. And I found that if you go too big they never warm up properly.
Burnouts don't do it for me and how do you get heat into the fronts anyway?
My preference is 205/50 x 15
What ride height are you running? Looks a tad high to me.
Was track was it?
Wish I had known there was one on........ oops Minister in Charge of
housebuilding wouldn't allow it anyway.
Keep those PB's coming
Cheers
Mick
PS You decided to get your Weber 45's yet? hehe
Cheers
Mick
