Great weekend
!
Saturday turned
out to be a comedy of errors in that I ran out of petrol TWICE
!!!!!
I thought I had
more in the tank than I actually did, I managed to scrounge some
more
but then ran out
again right at the start line
Just as well it
was practise day !
Sunday was a great
day
The car that won
the up to 1600 road registered class was about 4 seconds quicker than me
so I was never going to catch him.
So first in class
was a Honda civic.
Second & third
was between my 1600 & a late model Mitsubishi lancer
coupe
I thought he would
be quicker than me, same brand of tyres, but he had some suspension work &
Koni shocks, bit of a cam etc.
first run I was
quicker than him (but first run is often really a sighting run to check for
wet patches etc)
second run he was
quicker than me
third run we had
exactly the same time - unbelievable
fourth & fifth
runs I went quicker again than him
The improved pace
of the car was all down to my new tyres
I had so much grip
that I was lifting wheels around the corners !

are up on the net I will send a link
So first podium
for my datto - second place, Queensland Hillclimb championship, road
registered up to 1600cc.
Thanks for all of
the advice ive gotten from the list over the last twelve
months.
I cant wait to get
some better suspension & HP improvements - woo hoo !
