The original cover behind the rear seat was a piece
of thin light brown masonite (early fibreboard), screwed to the X shaped
braces. I think it also had some sound deadening glued to it and It had
plenty of gaps around it. It did visually hide the fuel tank, but not any
fuel smells!

I have just made
up a metal sheet to seperate the cabin from the boot, it goes behind the
back seat in my 1600.
ie if i remove the
back seat i am looking at the fuel tank
out of interest is
this standard to have no seperation ?
