That's what I figured, I rang around a few places that sell conversion kits, etc. and they're either prohibitivly expensive or impossible to get. Prices seem to start around $280 thru to $400. Then I rang a local place that manufactures suspension components and they were happy to wheel and deal on a batch of them all the same. This mob said $225 for the first one and if I get enough of them made the price can go as low as $185 so add $15 postage in aust, so that's basically the deal.
The SR/Bluey conversion is so popular too, anyone who's done the conversion knows that the swaybar is pretty much the only fabricated component required for the swap. Most other parts you pinch from other models and they fit. I wanna get this done asap / painlessly and without losing money or getting into debt over it. And it's my first crack at a group buy. Wish me luck. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeff Oldham Sent: Wednesday, 1 September 2004 5:10 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Bluebird Sway Bars - Group Buy. Au Subject: Bluebird Sway Bars - Group Buy. Importance: High Hi Ozdatters, Pardon me if we are not allowed to do this here, but I am organising a group purchase of some custom-made sway bars to fit a 910 type bluebird (1981-1985) with SR20 engine transplanted. The normal swaybar gets in the way of the sump and needs to be changed over, so most people fit the skyline one which is thicker than the bluey one but still doesn't quite clear the sump. Also, the lower the car, the worse the problem gets so these new bars should also cater for lowered cars. They are not adjustable, just a copy of the R30 skyline bar with a hump at the front. I am having one made up for my car and if I can get a few people who want the same thing they become cheaper. You're looking at around $200 to $220 incl postage (depending on how many we buy) for this modified swaybar. This is cheap! I am not doing this to make a profit, just wanna get them cheap for whoever wants one (including me!!) Anyhow, email me if you are interested and can come up with the funds.
