Hi, I have just put a CA18DET into my 1600, and I’m having
a problem where the computer is reading fault code 34.. Apparently code 34 is the knock sensor, so I have experimented several ideas to try and get rid of the fault
code but it won’t go away! I am at the stage now where I have run a new wire all the
way from the knock sensor to the computer, and tried two different sensors but
it still won’t go away L The car pulls well up to about 5000revs but
after 5000 it misfires pretty bad… I think it is running fairly rich too… Has anyone had any experience with a
problem like this or similar to this??? I am very keen to work this out so it
will run to it’s potential J I was under the impression that if the
computer had a knock sensor error it would retard the timing and richen things
up as a safeguard, and my car is running rich but as for the timing I’m
not too sure because it does go pretty well! Although I suppose it would in
comparison to my 76 celica J Any help or ideas would really be
appreciated.
