G'day Everyone,
Can anyone help me. I finally found myself a
1600 but the odd thing is it has the DATSUN
Badge just above the number plate which indicates it is a 68-69 insteed
of on the boot lid,(i was told 70 onwards have
badges on the bootlid) but the manufacturers marking show it was built
on the 8 month 1970. I actually bought it of the
guy who drove it ot of the factory in 1970. Can anyone tell me why it
has a 68-69 rear badge but is a 70 model Dat1600(
they were the first built in australia in 1970.
Something to do with their manufacturing tooling maybe ?

Their is a change over model ,

Some have Both ,,one on rear pan above number plate light and one on the
boot lid..

One of the factory 510SSS rally cars had both. In 1970 car #4 , I'm
also
sure all model made diecast or Plastic also have both badges.

Probley hence why your 1970 has the above the number plate ,,Some do
some
dont???..
Parts book shows both for 1970 ,,I think with out looking.going from
memory
