You'd nearly have to think the price of an OEM fuel pump is just
plain rude. A lady at work blew her Mitsubishi Lancer fuel pump on the way
to work last week and had to get rescued by the NRMA who towed her to the
nearest dealer - $920 for a genuine one (fitted) if you don't mind.
They've sourced a JY unit some place in Sydney for $120 +P&H so she's on
the buses for a few days. Even $385 for a Repco? unit is still rude IMHO -
problem is it don't go real well without one, and they usually blow in the
middle of no place special so I guess that you can just about charge what
you like.
Regards,
Terry
Just put one in my R30 skyline. Price for a
genuine Nissan pump is $830 and aftermarket type is $385. There are a
couple of different types in the R30 but all are interchangeable. I picked
up one from the wreckers for $75. Trouble is it's a 20 year old fuel pump.
It's a chance you have to take I guess. It's an easy job to change them,
they are located near the RHR wheel.

Subject: mr30 skyline
hi everybody,
My old man as an mr30 skyline with a just
about stuffed fuel pump & we got quoted 300 approx for a replacment
one & we aren't keen on paying that much for one, i was jsut
wondering if anyone knew what kind of pressure these pumps run at so we
can buy an aftermarket one for it? or know where to buy one cheaper?
& is there much involved in fitting an aftermarket off the original
wiring?
Cheers Everyone
Matt
