G'day
Thanks for the info everyone on the brake bias,
I nearlly got the conversion finished so i can try the brakes this week. If i
have any problems i suppose i can hunt around for a valve of those cars. Has
anyone tryed the QFM Brake pads, i have been told the Bendix dont work as well
as they used too, due to the asbestos being removed.

Cheers Mark

Mark,

Good chance of working OK without prop valve but there's just no way of
knowing for sure unless one has used this combination or driven a 1600 with
this combination - I forgot to mention another small factor in this equation
and that is brake pad brand, quality etc etc. I tend to use a harder pad in
the front of my 1600 (Paged blues) but not many ppl will pay the price for
them - I am using Bosch Supers in the rear as I've found they're just as
good as Bendix Ultimates and they come out of the box for R31 - R31
Ultimates are Commodore modified for R31 (dabs of weld on the backing plates
to locate the piston). Bendix have released another pad for R31 fronts
called Advance? Something like that and they work a treat on the Skyline. I
forgot to ask if they're available for R31 rears but they nearly would have
to be... You would think.

Have fun with it,
Regards,
Terry

Mark,

I found that it only depends on a few things with R31 rears:

Master cylinder - size & brand
Front callipers

You don't need the prop valve with 13/16" Nabco (B210 Sunny) & 200B front
callipers. Change master cylinder to a Tokico and you do - the internal
valving must be different, whey too much rear bias in the Tokico. Same with
a 3/4" cylinder Nabco, Tokico or Sankyo all have too much rear bias, and
forget the Aussie content PBR cylinders as they're a shocker.

Regards,
Terry

G'day everyone,
Can anyone tell me if you have to install a Proportional valve when you
change to rear discs on a Datto.R31 Discs. Any help is greatly appreciated.

CheersMarkO
