If you float your valves, you may bend or break them, and may even lose the whole engine if a valve head breaks off. I would not run stock springs to 7000, wouldn't even go past 6500 to be safe.
Why not upgrade the springs to be safe?

I don't like losing engines.

Subject: L28 redline?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to work out a relatively safe racing redline (in case my diff
runs out) for my L28ET.

It will be running between 15 and 18psi boost and has standard valve
springs I've been lead to believe.

Also has a larger Chris Wood BMW-based balancer so beyong 7000 should be
ok in short bursts (if the valve springs will let me go that high).

Any recommendations?

Dave
