I reckon it will depend a LOT on your intercooler.
If it is on the large side of things, then I think you'll be ok to go to around 16psi on the CA if the fuelling is good and no detonation.
Try it and see. Take it for a thrash and pop the bonnet and stick one hand on a pipe each side of the intercooler, if they are about the same then you should kick it back a notch. If the cold side is about ambient temp then you get my thumbs up.
Obviously there is more science to it than that, but that's a good indication on whether your IC is doing the job.
I've heard of T25g's running on 18-20psi on SR20's without any problem, but I really reckon your at the limit by about 16psi on the SR, the S13 seems to die in the ass when you hit about 6000rpm @16psi. So on a CA you'll be chewing less air up than a 2lt, so 16psi should in theory be no worse than running 14psi on a SR. :D

I don't think the T25g has a T04b comp housing.. Maybe the design is "based on" the t04b but I am sure it isn't a t04b. Side-by-side they are david and goliath.

Maybe what you heard is that they are similar design, and the T28 is "similar size to " the t3 comp.

The T25, t25g and T28 series are from what I understand like this:
T25 is a big version of the T2 (ET pulsar AiResearch jobbie)
T25g is high-flowed version of the T25, the comp is different in a lot of ways, but similar size. The high flowing I believe is done on the ex side.
T28 is a slightly bigger comp than the T25g, also slightly bigger ex side AR but high flowed like T25g

Flame me if i'm wrong, but that's how I always understood it.

T3's and T4's are a different story.

Here is a picture I prepared earlier....

On the left is a T04E.
On the right is a VG30 spec, ceramic poo T3 turbo
In front is what's left *cough* of a T2 I blew up on my old EXA

Now, looking at those pics.. The T25 & g are smaller than that T3, about 3/4 of the size, and about 30% larger than the T2. So that should theoretically put the T28 about the same size comp cover as a T3.

Subject: T25G, boost?

Hi all,

i finally got a adjustable boost controller, mechanical type.
a friend of mine makes them,
anyway what boost can i run on the T25G on a CA18det
i know people that have run 14psi all day long, but read
on the internet that you can run 17psi all day long.
my computer has been re-chipped to mines rev.3
Tim's car used to run 20psi with his.
Anyone got a compressor map for these?

hey Geordie i see that the T28 is different, has same ex. wheel etc,
but has a larger comp cover and wheel.
is it true that the T25G has a T04B comp housing? and the T28 has a T3 comp housing?

Heath
