From memory you unbolt the window winder
mechanism and the lower window channel guides, which are inside the door
and attached through the door frame at the front and
rear. Remove the winder from the glass by sliding its
arms out of the channel at the base of the window. Remove the winder
mechanism from the door through the large hole. The
window can be tilted and withdrawn upward through the sill
slot. Reverse to assemble. I would recommend fitting new bailey
channel in the the window channel when the glass is out. The glass
wont rattle if you do this and the window will glide up and down.
Note that the lower channel guides are
adjustable. Check that the the window is seated properly in
the upper channel when the window is fully raised, then thighten the lower
channel nuts.

I didn't mention it's a right hand front door. The door trim is off,
how do I unbolt the glass? The workshop manual wasn't very useful last
time we tried, just ended up taking off paint :

have to remove door trims, unbolt glass and
then remove glass, to access the the mechanism, should be small bolts
holding it in

I have a dodgey window winder mechanism in my 1600 however I
managed to find a repalcement... problem is I don't know how to remove the
old one to get the other one in. Can anyone explain in dummy terms or just
have to give in and send it to a workshop? Also i need a set of pedal
pads (the original rubber ones), they were on ebay but now they aren't,
any idea on where to find them? Only need one really but a pair would be
fine.
