Where did you hear that? That seems entirely in conflict with the goals of that fork. Their blog post says they're doing about 200,000 operations per second. If it takes 5 minutes to write a 32GB disk instance out (28TB / 800 servers), that's 60,000,000 operations that instance wasn't able to perform. > We have a real interest in persisting our memcached instances.
