While I don't think this is *entirely* invalid, I believe memcached
operates just fine on single core machines even when our test suite does
not.
one could consider this some kind of issue with our test suite on single
core machines, but I don't think we'll spend much time trying to update the
test suite for this.
Please re-open (and change the summary) if you find this to be a problem
that's affecting you meaningfully.
