Hey,

I'm working on polishing the user experience for the new proxy mode. See:
https://github.com/memcached/memcached/issues/827
and:
https://github.com/memcached/memcached/wiki/Proxy

The proxy has an extremely flexible configuration system, so it can be
bent into the needs of most organizations. However it's too verbose by
default and most people don't need to know the underpinnings. So to that
end I am including a "simple" configuration library to get people off the
ground:
https://github.com/memcached/memcached-proxylibs/blob/main/examples/multizone.lua

I'm currently expanding the options for the simple library before I make
another pass at documentation and an intro blog post.

Unfortunately I'm sitting here guessing as to what people's needs are and
what common configurations look like, so if you have a few minutes it'd be
nice to hear so I can try to make 'simple' work for more folks :)

Thanks,
-Dormando
