assert 'it->next != it' failed

Hi,

memcached 1.2.5 is sometimes terminating on assert. Assert message:
memcached-debug: items.c:222: item_unlink_q: Assertion `it->next != it' 
failed.

memcached 1GB, 1 thread. 32bit Debian Etch, 2.6.24 kernel, libc6 
2.3.6.ds1-13etch5
I will try to look at this. Anybody with same experience?
