MENDELE Yiddish Language and Literature Personal Notices and Announcements March 6, 2009
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests: 1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments. 3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. ________________________________________________________________ Date: Fri, 20 Feb 2009 13:36:54 -0600 From: Robyn Awend <[email protected]> Subject: Romm Press and a Sutzkever poem I am a Jewish letterpress artist in Minneapolis researching the history of the Romm Press for an upcoming personal project. I am searching for a specific piece of Romm's story that I am having a difficult time finding. I have only heard that the lead type was melted down to make the bullets for the war. I have not found any actual information on this with the exception of a beautiful poem written by Abraham Sutzkever. Do you know of anyone who might be able to give me some information about this or might know how to get in touch with Abraham. I know he is living in Israel but do not know how to reach him. Thank you. -- Robyn Awend www.robynstollerawend.com ______________________________________________________________________ Please do not use the "reply" key when writing to Mendele.
