Elegant use of language, controlled yet honest emotion, and unabashed passion were hallmarks of their writing. Miri Koral, a lecturer in Yiddish at UCLA and Director of the California Institute for Yiddish Culture and Language in Los Angeles, will present a selection of these unique, award-winning poets through readings from their works in the original Yiddish and English translation and audience discussion. (No knowledge of Yiddish required.)
