Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements Jan. 5, 2009
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests: 1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments; and write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line. 3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. _______________________________________________________________________ Date: Fri, 11 Dec 2009 09:30:13 -0700 From: Goldie Morgentaler <[email protected]> Subject: Chava Rosenfarb home page I would like to let Mendele subscribers know that I have set up a website for the Yiddish novelist and poet Chava Rosenfarb. The website includes a video of the convocation speech that Rosenfarb gave when she was awarded he r honorary degree by the University of Lethbridge in 2006. There are also photographs of Rosenfarb with such well-known Yiddish writers as Esther Kreitman, Melekh Ravitch and Itsik Manger, as well as with the Montrea Yiddish-language publisher Harry Hershman. I have also put up the Yiddish texts of some of Rosenfarb's poems. And there is a link to my youtube reading of one of her poems in Yiddish," Ikh volt arayngegangen in a shulekhl" [I Would Go into a Prayer House]. The link to the website is: Http://chavarosenfarb.com ________________________________________________________ Please do not use the "reply" key when writing to Mendele.
