Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements Jan. 24, 2010
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests: 1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line. 3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. ______________________________________________________________ Date: Sat, 23 Jan 2010 10:56:02 +0200 From: Beverly Bracha Weingrod <[email protected]> Subject: DOS FAMILIEN KOKH-BOOKH Dear Mendele readers - The 1914 publication (by the Hebrew Publishing Society) of DOS FAMILIEN KOKH-BOOKH , in Yiddish, which includes a 25 page English supplement by Alexander Harkavy, is finally translated into English and ready for publication. Only about 400 of the 693 recipes are included, and ALL of the charming and insightful introductions. There is a fine 'academic' introduction by Prof. Hasia Diner (NYU) . We seek a serious and interested publisher. Further details will be furnished.
