Yiddish Voice: Program in Memory of Avrom Sutzkever WUNR 1600 AM (Brookline/Boston) Wednesday, Mar. 3, 2010, 7:30 - 8:30 PM The Yiddish Voice (DOS YIDISHE KOL), Boston's weekly Yiddish-language adio show, will present a program in memory of the writer Avrom utzkever, who died Jan. 20, 2010. Participants will include Samuel Bak, a world-famous painter who survived the Vilna Ghetto as a child, where he was already recognized by Sutzkever for his early artistic talent in the ghetto years; Rivka Basman Ben-Haim, the poet who lives in Israel and who was for many years involved with the leading Yiddish literary journal edited by Sutzkever, _Di Goldene Keyt_, and in the circle of Yiddish writers in Israel after the Holocaust; and Avrom Nowersztern, Professor of Yiddish Literature at Hebrew University, director of the Shalom Aleichem House in Tel Aviv, and an expert on Avrom Sutzkever's work.
