TWO PERFORMANCES YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS! DATE: Sunday, August 15, 2010 TIMES: 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM PLACE: Hebrew Union College (HUC) 1 West 4th Street, New York City (between Broadway & Mercer St.) THE PERFORMERS: "Di Shekhter-tekhter", a.k.a. Reyna & Temma Schaechter, with Binyumen Schaechter on the piano. THE EVENT: Their first public NYC performances of this show, after traveling with it on 4 continents. THE SHOW: WHEN OUR ZEYDAS AND BUBBAS WERE YOUNG THE THEME: Colorful characters who resemble our grandparents in their youth are brought to life in song, many songs of which our grandparents themselves probably sang. THE LANGUAGE: All songs are performed in Yiddish, with staging, costumes and props; English translations are provided throughout. PERFORMANCE LENGTH: Approximately one hour. TICKETS: $20 for adults, $15 for children 13 and under. Children 4 and under will not be admitted. RESERVATIONS can be made by emailing [email protected] or by leaving a message at 212-989-0212. Be sure to leave 1) your full name, 2) the number in your party, 3) the performance you'll be attending (1:00 or 3:00), 4) your email address and phone number, should there be a problem. All reservations will be held until 15 minutes before the respective performance. >From then on, admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is general admission. 5) Tickets will not be sold in advance. REQUIREMENT FOR ALL: All guests age 18 and over must show an official Photo ID for entry to the building. COMPS: 2 complimentary tickets are given to all who make a tax-deductible contribution of $500 or more to the film (as well as being listed in the film's credits). PRIORITY SEATING: First choice of seat location, 2 complimentary tickets and a complimentary finished DVD of the film (as well as a very prominent listing in the film's credits) are given to all who make a tax-deductible contribution of $1000 or more to the film. These performances will be filmed.Excerpts will be part of the documentary film being made, WHEN OUR ZEYDAS AND BUBBAS WERE YOUNG.
