Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements January 29, 20100
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests: 1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line. 3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. ________________________________________________________________ Date: Sun, 2 Jan 2011 17:25:07 +0100 From: "Peter Gutmann, MA" <[email protected]> Subject: Artikl vegn GOSET in "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" (daytshish) am 24stn detsember hot di tsaytung "Frankfurter Allgemeine" a groysn artikl (1 zayt mit a groysn bild) publitsirt vegn yidishn teater GOSET. deriker der badayt fun die verter "jiddisch" un "jdisch" (bayde far teater, sprakhn, shtikn, mentshn!) iz zeyer interesant in daytshishn tekst. ir kent koyfn dem artikl far 1 eyro (iuro?) bay: http://fazarchiv.faz.net/ (zukht nokh "Tragdie mit Gesang und Tanz"). Peter Gutmann After my very basic Yiddish, here a slightly more fluent English version (to be on the safe side, so to say): The German Newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeigung" published an article on the GOSET on 24.12.10. There is no apparent reason why they would have done so, but, I think, especially the use of both "jiddisch" and "jdisch" when writing about the theatre, the language, the repertoire and the people, make this article worth reading. If you read German and have no access to the FAZ- copy in question, you can buy the article for 1 Euro at their archive here: http://fazarchiv.faz.net/ (search term: "Tragdie mit Gesang und Tanz"). Best wishes, Peter Gutmann ________________________________________________________________ Please do not use the "reply" key when writing to Mendele.
