Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements Feb. 9, 2011
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests: 1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line. 3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. __________________________________________________________________________ Date: Fri, 28 Jan 2011 13:50:03 -0500 From: Lawrence A. Rosenwald <[email protected]> Subject: Where to send Holocaust survivor testimony (af idish arayngerekhnt-Untershames) A colleague of mine, a writer named Susan Meyer, recently wrote to say that since the publication of her novel _Black Radishes_, set in Nazi-occupied France, she'd been contacted by several Holocaust survivors seeking her help in making their stories public. She's trying to find organizations that collect Holocaust survivor testimony. I know that this isn't quite a Yiddish-related question, but it occurred to me that in connection with numerous Mendele postings having to do with Yiddish memoirs and yizkerbikher, maybe some readers of Mendele might be able to offer suggestions to my colleague, and if there are any such suggestions I'll pass them along to her. A hartsikn dank, Larry Rosenwald ________________________________________________________________________ Please do not use the "reply" key when writing to Mendele.
