Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements April 28, 2011
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests: 1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line. 3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. _____________________________________________________________________________ Date: Mon, 4 Apr 2011 18:31:48 -0700 (PDT) From: Stuart Filler <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: Mendele Personal April 4, 2011 - Our cousin Vivien Lang in Philadelphia recalls Leah Kapilowitz Hofman's story "Hent oyfn Meine Oygelach," "My Hands upon My Little Eyes," which she and our cousin, her late brother Ygal Roodenko, read as New York kids in the latter 1920s. She hopes someone has a translation. I hope someone has the story! Posted are the story collection Kleyne in der Groyser Velt (1920, 194 pages, 25 stories), the poem collections In Kinderland (1918, 226 pages, 5 collections) and Mon Blumen (1941, 114 pages, 5 collections), Teatr-Shpiln (1930, 98 pages, 8 plays). Dem Zeydn's Tabik Pushke (1946, 8 pages) is another of the books downloadable from http://www.archive.org/details/nybc213373 . Any recollection or other information referring to the "Little Eyes" story by Leah Kaprilovich would be welcome.
