To save wear and tear on the untershames, please comply with these four requests: 1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments. 3. Write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line. 4. To respond, contact the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* your ever-beleaguered untershames. ________________________________________________________________________________ Date: Wed, 5 Oct 2011 15:11:35 -0400 From: [email protected] Subject: Jewish Fiction.net seeks translations Jewish Literary Journal, Jewish Fiction .net, seeks translations into English of Yiddish works (that have not yet been published in English) Jewish Fiction .net (www.jewishfiction.net) is an online literary journal committed to showcasing the finest Jewish writing (either written in, or translated into, English), and creating a virtual home for writers and readers of Jewish fiction from around the world. Last year (our first year), 15,000 people from 65 countries read the stories and novel excerpts in our journal, including wonderful works originally written in Yiddish by Shira Gorshman, Chava Rosenfarb, and Yehoshue Perle. We at Jewish Fiction .net greatly cherish Yiddish literature, and are seeking, for future issues, translations into English of Yiddish works that have not yet been published in English. We would very much like to include in our journal at least one piece per issue that is translated from Yiddish. Our usual word length is 6,000 words, but there is some flexibility on this. To send us your translated work, please visit our Submissions page at http://www.jewishfiction.net/index.php/contactus/submission or contact the editor, Dr. Nora Gold, at [email protected]. ___________________________________________________________________ Please do not use the "reply" key when writing to Mendele.
