On August 12th 1952 13 prominent Jewish intellectuals and writers, who were all members of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee were shot in the Lubyanka prison in Moscow on the orders of Stalin. Many of those executed were Yiddish writers. A commemorative event is being organised in London by Five Leaves Publications, in association with JMI (The Jewish Music Institute).
