Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. [The Untershames regrets that this notice did not come to his attention soon enough to be published before the funeral/] Tayere Mendelyaner, I am very sorry to tell you of the passing of Roberta Saltzman, Assistant Chief of the Dorot Jewish Division, New York Public Library. She died of cancer. Roberta was a superb librarian and bibliographer, and the author of “Isaac Bashevis Singer : a bibliography of his works in Yiddish and English, 1960-1991; (Lanham, Md. : Scarecrow Press, 2002). She was also known for her interest in Jewish cookbooks and was profiled in a Forward article, “A cookbook-craze-becomes-a-rare-collection.” She helped many Yiddish researchers over the years.
