________________________________ June 3, 2014 To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests: 1.Send time-sensitive notices well in advance. 2. Send material as plain text to [email protected] as plain text (no HTML, other coding, or attachments and write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line. 3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames. * _____________________________________________________* From:Alec Burko <[email protected]> Date: May 22, 2014 Tayere fraynd, Ikh vil aykh moydiye zayn, az Stutshkovs bukh "mame-loshn" iz aroysun me ken es shoyn bashteln oyf "amazon" far bloyz $15. The text includes 400 pages of explanations and anecdotes about Yiddish words and expressions, written by one of our greatest experts, Nahum Stutchkoff, the author of the Thesaurus of the Yiddish Language. Together with Amanda Miryem-Khaye Seigel I added a scholarly introduction and comprehensive bibliography of Stutchkoff's works. Professor Chava Lapin added a preface. As Stutchkoff himself would have said: This is an ornament for every Jewish home! לייזער בורקאָ Leyzer Burko __________________________________ Please do not use the "reply" key when writing to Mendele.
