The Internet Society is currently accepting applications from individuals who are interested in moderating the 'Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS)' online course. This online course covers essential topics on rectifying problems related to incorrect routing information, traffic with spoofed source IP addresses, and coordination and collaboration between Internet service providers (ISPs). A full description of the course can be found at: https://bit.ly/2x2SmyH. Individuals interested in becoming certified moderators should meet the required qualifications and skills outlined below. Those who also meet the preferred qualifications will have an advantage. You can find the role description for the expert moderator at: https://bit.ly/2x2z0tA. Required Qualifications and Skills: • Sound understanding of networking principles (e.g. OSI Model, IP addressing, etc.) • Experience working in the setup and maintenance of IP networks • Interest in the security and stability of the global routing system Preferred: • Experience as a trainer or moderator for networking and/or routing and switching courses • Currently employed in a technical role for an Internet service provider (ISP) • Current holder of a certification in routing and switching or network security (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIP, JNCIE, etc.) Timeline for Selection 28 May - Open call for applications 10 June - Close call for applications 15 June - Notify successful candidates 18 June - Course begins 27 July - Course ends Selected individuals will be required to complete the training, which includes the MANRS course content as well as content on how to effectively moderate online courses. Individuals who successfully completed the training will receive a certificate that identifies them as a certified Internet Society online course moderator.
