I agree, my reply was a bit harsh. But I was seriously trying to
report a bug in my original post. I couldn't do it on llighthouse,
because its subdomain sign in approach is half useless from China. So
I posted the bug report here.
I'm in the final throws of trying to get an app out. I can't have
people starting to tell me something like installing local gems is not
allowed and is a "feature".

I really think at this point someone like Ezra needs to stand up and
say, merb 1.0RC is not going to be a stable thing this week. This
allows others to readjust their schedules accordingly. Based on what
Ive experienced the past week or so, I would say merb 1.0 is going to
need to go through several RC releases over the next month or two.
There is just too much new stuff and refactoring that has gone on.
All to great effect and for good reason, but there is going to be a
long settling period as a result.
Yes, I know all we were promised was an RC. And that can mean
anything, but I think we need to be a little more clear that things
are a bit unstable at the moment and another 24 or 36 hours isn't
going to magically settle all this. I think the unstability is not
due to any widespread bad programming problems. I see most of the
code in merb is of very high quality. There are simply a lot of
contributors at this point and that results in longer settling periods
than merb has had to deal with in the past.

Sorry, if I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. ;)
