Yes, I know.

It was simply another perspective on it.

If we rely on Ruby, and there's a bug in Ruby, surely that should  
provide us with impetus to help go up-stream and patch the bug. I'm  
bringing this from the noob POV, because oftentimes noobs get SO  
confused... especially when the project relies on, say, 4 other  
projects, which all have their own slew of issues and bugs.

There wasn't really a point that I was making, just an interesting  
observation that perhaps bears some thought.
