Hi All, I'm a graphic/web designer and aspiring Merbist. ( so not pure HTML I'll grant you!) I find HAML eminently readable / usable (Except for some cases where it doesn't easily allow certain sub-bits of tags - can't think of an example right now!)
>From memory, it was developed by Hampton at unspace with a designer in mind, so it's kinda aimed at web designers... Like all things, I suppose, there is an upfront cost with HAML (making your brain learn to do it differently) for a long-term payoff...
