Can anyone tell me any interesting details on Sequel and Merb? I'm wanting to use it for its prepared statements support. I'm not so worried about having perfect OR mapping. In most of my projects I even write a certain amount of straight SQL.
My thinking is that since the hit on the database from Rails is so hard, with all that parsing, I could get a decent amount of vertical scaling (throwing cpu's at the database server) by using Sequel.
