Hello merbies... So if you haven't yet, you should check out SproutCore (SC). Its a really cool open source MVC JS framework. Works with DM and not AR (very well), due to the JSON output format, I believe (I'm somewhat of a noob, so please excuse me). Now, I believe its all Apples' (I'm sure someone here knows better) and quite stand alone. Their site goes through the Merb integration which isn't really so much an integration as much as its a data source for SC. SC serves on port 4020 and does a proxy service so DM can feed it data. Don't know why they wouldn't just go with CouchDB if that's all they would want Merb for. At any rate...is there an effort somewhere to port SC to Merb? There seems like other issues with SC other then just the fact that (it seems to me) all you can have is a 100% JS generated site. The overhead in serving that huge set of libraries to the client doesn't really seem efficient to me. That and it would be nice to have SC just for partials in merb. So, anybody know of an effort to make this happen?
