I've just pushed commits for the refactoring of the gemspecs in the Merb. I've removed dependency on the Jeweler. I moved gemspecs to their own files rather than generating them.
I've removed Rakefile from the merb metagem because it was not needed now. Bundling from git still works. You can build merb gems using plain: gem build merb-core.gemspec I should also make the gemspecs executable because they has shebang to build the gem if they're run.
