Thank You Marshall!  I'm coming out of the Twilite Zone little by little, 
learning and listening.  I used to sell cars and we had a saying,"How do you 
tell when a buyers lying?  his lips move."
As for the key and tumbler.. Right now I start the car with a screwdriver 
across the starter solenoid.
I picked up a push button switch to install.  I'm comfortable with leaving 
the key in the ignition, my only concern is that someday the steering wheel 
locks up at an inopportune moment.

people riding in the back seat were screaming so loud"
