You got it exactly right. The broadcasters and MPAA are only marginally brighter than the RIAA and record industry which isn't saying much.
We haven't had cable for 9 years. When I first got out of college I didn't have any money. Then a few months later I got my finanaces worked out and figured if we didn't need cable before we probably still didn't need it. Now 9 years later I figure we REALLY don't need it. We live about 70 miles outside of Boston and rabbit ears are useless. I priced out last summer a roof mounted TV antenna and it looked to be about $300 which would get us all kinds of TV but in talking to the wife we decided we didn't need it. We buy a couple DVDs a year (mostly TV shows) and watch no more than 1 hour of TV per night. The rest of the time we do stuff or actually talk to each other, what a novel concept. -Curt Date: Sun, 29 Jun 2008 08:52:41 -0400 From: "Ed Booher" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [MBZ] Comcast (was Re: question about using blackberry as a tethered modem) To: "Mercedes Discussion List" <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 On Fri, Jun 20, 2008 at 12:17 PM, LarryT <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > It gets worse. Brilliant! They do this and still "content providers" wonder why more and more people just "pirate" TV shows from BitTorrent. Personally, I haven't had cable, or satellite, for about three years. If I *really* want to see something that isn't available from my wonderful rabbit ears, I go to the iTunes Store or buy it on DVD.
