Worst car my parents owned was probably a '77 Buick Opel (rebadged izuzu). Would do about 60 wide open in 4th gear with the motor screaming. Also very prone to rust despite (or maybe because of) the aftermarket "rustproofing" they bought. Personally I've had pretty good luck. Worst was probably our '02 Dodge Caravan, it had persistent electrical issues that the dealer was unable to resolve for more than a few months at a time. I really liked almost everything else about it though.
