Thanks Peter, Mitch and Manfred. The injector was bad as suggested by
Manfred and Mitch as a possibility. As Mitch suggested, I swapped holes and
the problem followed the injector.

I took all three to a fuel service shop today, got them back in and there is
a smooth sounding little klatta klatta in my shop, no smoke. A bad injector
and a blown head gasket put this unit in the scrap pile. I still have a
u-joint and brake problem to care for and it will be whole again.

I have enjoyed working on this little engine and am looking forward to the
next two.

BTW, I called a Toro dealer for a price on a new injector an was quoted
$230.33 each. The shop replaced the tip in the bad one and cleaned/tested
the other two for $70.

Thanks
Harry
