RE: 126 Console Removal Hey Don,
After you remove the two screws under the removable part of the ashtray, the whole ashtray unit slides out. Remember to disconnect the wires for the cigarette lighter. >From the Ashtray down: 1. Then, the little tray under that just pops right out. (Or at least, on mine it does) 2. The bezel around the gearshift indicator snaps out, leaving a gap between the indicator panel and the wood panel that contains the window switches and the mirror control. 3. Then, if you slide that wood panel forward, it unlocks, giving access to the wiring on the bottom side.. >From the Ashtray up: 1. Pull down the 2 spring clips, one on each side of the bottom of the radio and slide it out. 2. At the bottom of the woodgrain panel (that contains the ACC unit, and a bunch of switches) , there should be 2 Phillips head screws, facing upward, that need to be removed. 3. The panel should be loose, providing access to the ACC and switch wiring. Good Luck! .
