"At approximately 88,000 miles, the timing chain broke"
What happens when a timing chain breaks in these engines? The camshaft stops 
rotating and pistons keep going up and down and smash into the valves, 
right? 

Looks like it could be a nice project car for someone. Quite a project, 
however....
