Heating oil has been in a relative freefall lately, down to ~$3.70 in the last
couple days from $4.79 when my oil company sent out pre-pay letters in July.
I declined to lock in a price and so far that has been a gamble well paid off.
We'll fill up this week at $1/gal less than we were offered 2 months ago.
Last year we locked in at $3, the year before was $2.50.

Hey at least you are in Florida. I hear that some folks in the more northern
areas are likely to be pretty hard hit
this winter. I think I read that Maine has a very high number of people who
heat with oil. Not going to be good
news when they fill their tanks.
