There is a leak in one or more of the lock diaphrams -- the W123 and W116 use a pair in each door, and they sometimes leak with vac on on side and not on the other.

This is not my field, but isn't the locking mechanism powered by a vacuum pump in the back somewhere? In my '81 300SD I think it is in the trunk.
