I think that Karl Rove said it best a few months ago when discussing possible short list candidates for Obama [and I only watched it once, so if you want the exact wording you will need to find it yourself. It was a video of Rove talking posted on u-tube, an excerpt of a clip shown on the Colbert Report]: "To nominate a candidate who has been mayor of such a small town, the 104th largest city in the United States ... can only be a political stunt..." In fairness to Rove he was talking about a Democrat who was mayor of a town of 200,000 rather than a Republican who had been mayor of a town of 9,000, and then each was also elected governor of a state. I'm sure Rove's political assessment only applied to Democrats though, and he would now state that Palin was well qualified having served as a mayor of a town of 9,000 as well as a governor. BillR

Why is Sarah less qualified than other governor candidates, say Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter? Categorically, I would think someone with executive experience would be more qualified to be president than someone who only has experience as a member of a committee. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Wilton Strickland Sent: Saturday, October 18, 2008 12:02 To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] OT: Is Barack Obama a US Citizen? Like I said, "Sarah could be POTUS in Jan." If John were for "country first," he would not have picked Sarah.
