..I was poking through my LP collection last night and found that I
have two box sets of Beethoven with Symphony #9 and BOTH are with
Herbert Von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic....
Just this morning, the Arts and Entertainment channel ran a B&W video of
Von
Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic and Jessye Norman in a
selection
from Die Meistersinger which I had not seen.
When he died in 1989 at 81 (worth millions), he owned a Porsche 959.
