I use Thunderbird. Previously (pre-thread sorting), I would always scan my email for any emails with the same subject BEFORE I responded. Kaleb just barrels right on in :)
I just use Mail. But I don't reply to anything until I've waded through the whole batch. I don't delete anything I _may_ want to answer, and by the time I get to the end there's maybe half a dozen left to re-consider.
